Department of Public Relations and Advertising

The Department of Public Relations and Advertising in cooperation with the Creative Club organized a “Creative Workshop” event on Thursday, April 17, 2025. Ufuk Özgül (Art Director), Ezgi Yağcı (Strategist) and Oğuzhan Şen (Copywriter) from Jüpiter Advertising Agency, who participated in the event as speakers, explained to the students how things progress in the advertising sector, what they do and shared their own experiences.

The Department of Communication Arts hosted Burak Bozkurt, the founder of 51 Digital, one of the leading agencies in the field of “Influencer Marketing Communication”, as part of the “Seminar V” course on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

The students of the IKU Department of Communication Arts accompanied by Assist. Prof. Göknur Sözneri, attended the "Paper Recycling" workshop held at Istanbul Modern on Wednesday, May 15th.  As a part of the event, the IKU students received important information about recycling, sustainability and design.

A seminar titled "The Significance of New Generation Social Media and Digital Marketing" was held with the joint efforts of the Department of Communication Arts and the Effective Communication Club, on Thursday, May 9. İlayda Bilek, the founder of Küçük&Co company, attended the event as a guest speaker and informed the students about how social media can be used as a tool of reaching success.

The students of the Department of Communication Arts came together with the 2011 alumni Berivan Aydoğan, Communications Director of Medyaevi, Gizem Çimen, Communications Director of Unite Edelman and İlayda Kaygusuz, Donation Projects Manager of the Turkish Education Foundation at the “Alumni Student Panel” moderated by Lecturer Yakup Pera Sağıroğlu on Tuesday, May 7.

A seminar titled "The Significance of Artificial Intelligence in Digital Marketing" was held with the joint efforts of the Department of Communication Arts and the Effective Communication Club, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the 1st floor multi-purpose hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus. BusinessUp Founder Önder Türker, who attended the event as a speaker, elaborated on how artificial intelligence can be used more effectively in the telecommunications sector and how artificial intelligence can help aid the communication professionals in digital marketing.

Res. Assist. Kübra Karapınar Eyvel from the Department of Communication Arts provided "Social Responsibility and Environmental Protection in Clubs" training to Beşiktaş Football Academy technical and administrative teams and athletes in the program organized at BJK Fulya Hakkı Yeten Facilities within the scope of the Turkish Football Federation 2023-2024 UEFA Club License Statute.

In cooperation with the Department of Communication Arts, the Department of New Media and Communication and the Effective Communication Club, a trip to Başka İşler Advertising Agency was organized. Within the scope of the trip held on December 26, 2023, our students observed advertising practices in the agency environment. Our students who participated in workshops on advertising design were given trainings on various fields such as event organization and event production.

The Department of Communication Arts organized a graduate student panel titled "A Look at the Changing World of Communication with Graduates" on Wednesday, December 13, at 13.00, in the multi-purpose seminar hall of the 1st floor of the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building. 2017 graduate İpek Demiralay, Polat Emre Çırganiş, Göktuğ Hekimoğlu and 2022 graduate Miraç Kadir Dalmış conveyed to the student their experiences, projects and knowledge about internship/employment processes in the digitalizing and changing communicating center in the panel moderated by Lecturer Yakup Pera Sağıroğlu.

Ali Anıl Ece, our student from the Department of Communication Arts, prepared a successful presentation with their group in accordance with the brief given in the "UniChallenge+ Digital Student Jobs Training Camp" program organized in partnership with IAB and Akbank and was awarded the first place. We congratulate our student and wish them continued success.
